Continued professional development needed for Mortgage Advisers
20 July 2016

The CMAcert programme has been withdrawn and is no longer open to new enrolments.
A recent FCA-published paper suggested that advice and guidance should be more widely accessible to consumers. In light of this, The Society of Mortgage Professionals has called for more continued professional development for advisers to provide an all-round better service. While regulatory qualifications are mandatory for providing mortgage advice, annual CPD is not a requirement currently. The SMP advise that pairing regulatory qualifications with CPD would better equip mortgage advisers with a wider knowledge and skill set.
As the leading mortgage adviser training provider in the UK, Simply Academy provide our students with the best regulatory training courses. These include the Certificate in Mortgage Advice & Practice (CeMAP) and the Certificate in Regulatory Equity Release (CeRER).
Mortgage Advisers may also wish to consider studying the Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA). Passing this course allows you to provide advice on a broader range of Financial Services.
