What happens after CeMAP?

So, you have completed your CeMAP qualification – congratulations! You have managed to obtain the regulatory qualification that will open the doors for you to work in the lucrative financial industry as a mortgage adviser. After all that hard work completing CeMAP, you may be wondering what happens next?

After completing CeMAP, you should be looking to obtain your Competent Adviser Status (CAS) which is where you will be overseen completing various tasks within the mortgage adviser job role to deem you competent and sign you off with CAS status. How quickly you will obtain your CAS sign off is dependent on the work you produce, which can be daunting if you have never worked in a mortgage adviser role before. Employers will be looking to sign you off with CAS as soon as possible so that you can advance from a junior adviser to handling your own workload. The CMAcert is an interactive online course where you will work through 5 mandatory units, building your knowledge of the typical tasks you would expect to undertake in your job role. Each unit is split into topics, such as how to generate your leads and gather the correct information from your clients, all the way to the mortgage and protection application processes.
