You may have heard of CeMAP. You may even already know that it stands for ‘Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice’, but you may still be wondering: what is CeMAP? Well, we’re here to answer all your questions and, to get you started, we’ve put together this guide introducing you to this sought-after qualification.

So, what is CeMAP?

CeMAP, as already mentioned, stands for Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice. It’s a qualification designed especially for people who want to become certified mortgage advisers and teaches all the skills and knowledge needed to do this.

Who needs a CeMAP?

In order to offer professional mortgage advice, you must hold a qualification that is recognised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The CeMAP course ticks this box!

Employers and clients recognise the qualification as a real benchmark and respect that it represents knowledge and understanding. Once you hold a CeMAP certificate, you are able to take on your first clients and start working as a mortgage adviser.
